Battery Cluster at the 3rd SPM Summer School

Battery Cluster Portugal was present at the 3rd Summer School, organised by the Portuguese Materials Society.

On July 22, the 3rd Summer School Materials for Energy Transition, organised by the Portuguese Materials Society, took place at the University of Aveiro. This event centred on the topic of batteries, bringing together experts, academics and industry professionals to discuss the advances and challenges in this crucial field for the energy transition. The event began with a welcome session and presentation of the Summer School’s objetives, emphasising the importance of developing advanced materials for batteries in promoting a more sustainable economy that is less dependent on fossil fuels. The event was kicked off my João Correia, from the University of Aveiro, and Jennifer Teixeira, from INL, who emphasised the relevance of the event in the context of current energy and sustainability policies. The closing session of the first day of the Summer School included a discussion session on ‘The Future of Batteries in the Energy Transition’, moderated by Fernando Machado, General Manager of Battery Cluster Portugal, which discussed market trends and opportunities for innovative projects in the field of batteries. The discussion was enriched by the participation of representatives from industry and academia, who shared their experiences and perspectives on collaboration between the academic and business sectors.
