European Workshop on Battery Interfaces

The multiple physical and chemical processes occuring at the electrode-electrolyte interfaces are instrumental to the performance and lifetime of rechargeable batteries. This workshop aims to bring together high-resolution experimental techniques and multiscale modelling methods to phobe multi-physics interactions and electrochemical reactions at the battery interfaces.

The workshop contributors should address the basic scientific issues, clarify the phenomena occuring at battery interfaces, develop advanced characterisation/modelling methods for understanding battery interfaces for addressing the challenges at the battery interfaces.

This workshop will showcase the research progress and scientific findings from two Horizon Europe funded projects under the Battery 2030+ programme – OPERA which focus on the anode-electrolyte interface of the zero-excess solid-state batteries, and OPINCHARGE which focus on unravelling the dynamic interface processes and charge transport in Li-ion batteries.
