Battery Cluster Portugal, represented by its General Manager Fernando Machado, took part in practical workshop “Automotive Industry and Cybersecurity in the NIS 2 Era“, organized by the Northern Region of the Portuguese Engineers Association, held on September 17 in Porto.
The event brought together experts and representatives from the automotive, engineering, and cybersecurity sectors to discuss the challenges and opportunities posed by the new European directive NIS 2. The directive, which came into force in 2024, introduced stricter requirements in terms of digital security, risk management, and incident response, directly impacting the entire value chain of the industry.
Fernando Machado joined the Round Table “Transformation in the Automotive Sector: Strategies and Challenges”, where perspectives on the industry’s evolution were discussed. The participation of Battery Cluster highlighted the relevance of batteries and the electric mobility sector, areas strongly affected by digital transformation and the growing demands of cybersecurity.
