Energy Technology Open Day

Registration is now open for the Energy Technology Open Day – an event organised by INESC TEC, through TEC4Energy, which aims to be a space for sharing innovations developed at the Institute that have the theme of Energy as their common denominator. The event will take place on Tuesday 3 December at 2pm in the Auditório Nobre of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP). Registrations must be made by 25 November, by filling in the registration form available here.

What can you expect from the Energy Technology Open Day?

1. A Pitch session (Watt the Tech?! Pitch 4 All) in which INESC TEC researchers will summarise relevant projects in which they are involved, on the subject of energy;
2. Tech Talk at the Round Power Table will debate current and future challenges on the following topics, for which we have proposed to the panel of experts we have invited a range of questions that will be addressed during the session:
   1. Smarter Grids: What else is needed for a deeper improvement?
   2. New roles for Electric Mobility Infrastructures: The more electric vehicles, the more charging infrastructure there will be! What kind of flexibility services can these infrastrutures provide to the grid? How important will fast charging become?
   3. The importance of Mini and Microgeneration: How distribution grids will become affected by a massive presence of mini and micro sources?
   4. Expectations for Wind Offshore: The impact of wind offshore plants on the VHV grid and how can it leverage the Portuguese industry?
   5. Green Hydrogen: How can green H2 production change the scene in Portugal? How feasible is it? Should we dive into the sea?
3. Happy hour (cocktail), with a technological exhibition of solutions (hardware and software) developed by INESC TEC researchers for the energy sector.
