Fernando Machado, General-Manager of Battery Cluster Portugal, took part in the 2024 edition of “Forum Market Days”, an event promoted by CEFAMOL – The Portuguese Association for the Mould Industry, held on June 26th at CENTIMFE, in Marinha Grande.
This forum focused on the internationalisation of the mould industry, bringing together experts and organisations to discuss strategies, trends, and growth opportunities in international markets.
Fernando Machado joined the 3rd panel, titled “New Markets, New Opportunities”, alongside Paulo Duarte from the Portuguese Railway Platform. This session highlighted alternative sectors beyond the automotive industry – traditionally dominant in the mold sector – and presented viable paths for diversification and industrial development, such as the battery and electric mobility sectors.
During his intervention, Fernando Machado emphasised the role of Battery Cluster Portugal in promoting national innovation in energy storage, as well as its contribution to building new value chains aligned with the European energy transition goals.
The event also featured two other panels. The 1st panel – “Challenges in European Markets”, included Pedro Patrício and Miguel Fontoura, AICEP delegates in the UK and Sweden, who shared insights on the current commercial and economic dynamics of these markets. The 2nd panel – “Tools and Strategies to Attract Clients”, featured practical presentations by Andreia Jotta (Yunit Consulting) and Nuno Caetano (Coaching361), addressing international branding and key commercial skills in today’s global context.
Battery Cluster’s participation in this event reflects its ongoing commitment to contributing to the diversification of Portugal’s industrial base and its integration into emerging value chains in the mobility and energy sectors.
