On February 25th, Battery Cluster Portugal organized the Kick-off Meeting for the EU-UA SUNRISE project (Sustainbale Use of New Renewable Innovations for Safe Energy) in Porto. The meeting brought together the six partners from the six countries represented in the project: Norway, Sweden, Portugal, Slovenia, Poland, and Ukraine.
The SUNRISE project aims to strengthen collaboration between energy clusters in the European Union and Ukraine, promoting innovation, sustainability, and energy resilience. Key objectives of the project include the creation of energy communities, energy efficiency, energy storage, and smart management, while addressing the challenges of the energy transition and supporting the recovery of Ukraine’s energy infrastruture.
During the meeting, the main project objectives and tasks, expected deliverables, performance indicators, action timelines, and all other details for successful project implementation were discussed.
The project, funded under Horizon Europe, began its activities in early February and will last for 20 months.
