This morning, the Director-General of the Battery Cluster, Fernando Machado, took part in the Battery Tech Summit 2025, an event organized by ATEC in collaboration with Mobinov, held at the ISEP – School of Engineering of the Polytechnic of Porto.
Invited as both speaker and moderator, Fernando Machado participated in the panel “Overview of the Battery Sector in Portugal”, where he shared the Battery Cluster’s perspective on the main emerging challenges and opportunities, the national landscape of the sector, and the importance of developing technical skills to support the growth of Portugal’s battery ecosystem.
Following the panel, he moderated the roundtable discussion titled “The Battery Sector in Portugal: A Vision of the Present and the Future”, which featured a distinguished panel of experts:
- Paulo Alves, Founder & CEO of Edmtech
- João Gomes, CEO of b.again
- Tiago Ramos, Director of Workshop Equipment, CTIVs and e.Mobility at Lusilectra
- Albino Marques, Consultant at REN and Coordinator at ENTSO-E
The discussion fostered a strategic dialogue on the sector’s future, encouraging knowledge sharing, alignment of perspectives, and stronger collaboration among key stakeholders in the national battery value chain.
The Battery Tech Summit 2025, part of the European Voltage project, stands out as a prime forum for discussing the integrated and sustainable development of the battery sector in Portugal, at a pivotal moment in the energy transition.
