Battery Cluster Portugal expanded its network of members in the last quarter of 2025 with the addition of Monbat and the Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), two organisations whose expertise brings valuable contributions to the growth of the national battery value chain.
Monbat, an industrial group established in 1959 with a strong presence in the battery manufacturing sector, joins the Cluster with extensive experience in energy storage solutions. The company develops a wide portfolio of battery products for automotive and industrial applications, including lead-acid and lithium-ion technologies.
The Instituto Pedro Nunes (IPN), a private non-profit organisation based in Coimbra, is dedicated to promoting innovation and technology transfer, bridging the gap between the scientific systemj and business sector. IPN conducts R&D activities, provides specialised technoogical services, and supports the creation and development of innovative companies.
With these new members, Battery Cluster Portugal strengthens collaboration between industry and research, further consolidating its mission to advance technological development, competitiveness, and sustainability within the national battery value chain.
