The Battery Custer Portugal, represented by its director Fernando Machado, actively participated in the Battery Innovation Days 2024, held in Barcelona on November 26 and 27. The event brought together around 1,500 participants, including industry leaders, researchers, and policymakers, to discuss the European landscape of research and innovation in the battery sector.

The Battery Innovation Days 2024 focused on the crucial question: “How ca we ensure the establishment of a globally competitive and sustainable European battery industry?”. Discussions spanned a variety of topics, from financing and circularity to artificial intelligence and advances in chemical processes and manufacturing techniques. One of the event’s highlights was the awarding of the Young Investigator Award in Batteries to Pietro Iurilli for his doctoral work at CSEM in collaboration with ETH Zurich, titled “EIS applied to Li-Ion Batteries: Modelling Cell Aging for Comprehensive SoH Estimation”
