As part of the New Generation Storage (NGS) project, the Battery Cluster, in partnership with CeNTI and INL, carried out a strategic tour of various European organisations that are leaders in technological innovation. The aim of the visit was to identify good practices for the creation of the NGS technology platform, as well as to broaden knowledge of the technologies used in Europe and create new networks of contacts.
The delegation visited the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC), in the United Kingdom, a benchmark in the industrialisation of battery technologies, where they were able to observe some advanced battery development methodologies.
At TNO Innovation for Life in the Netherlands, we also had the opportunity to meet with Battery Cluster Competence and work on the possibilities of partnerships between entities from both clusters.
Finally, the group went to EnergyVille in Belgium, a centre specialising in sustainable energy technologies and power grid optimisation. The interaction with colleagues from this centre allowed them to explore possible methods of collaboration in the future. The experience, knowledge and networks gained on this international tour are essential steps in the continued successgul implementation of the NGS project, as well as in the development of new opportunities, not only for Battery Cluster Portugal, but also for all the associated organisations.
